Several Travel Tips

There are many things you can do to make your air travel more comfortable. We would like to share with you several items you should have while traveling abroad,or coming back. Life is surely easier when you prepare ahead.

- Be sure to carry printed electronic ticket with all the confirmation number, complete itinerary and the contact information from your travel agent. This is very important in case you run into problems with your reservation. Yours truly had an amazing experience –confirmation numbers and e-ticket that was not visible in the airline system of the chosen company.

- Have some cell phone with credit with you or enough cash you can use to call your travel agent back home. In case you need to clarify some issues with them, you better be prepared to call them and ask what is going on. Of course, you can have Skype credit and connect to the Internet at the airport –it’s cheaper that way.

- Boarding tickets –take them as soon as possible. That way you will have enough time to browse the airport and enjoy your time before flights.

- Blanket. There are blankets that you can fit in your carry on luggage and it may save your life. If you are not really the fan of air conditioning at the airport or in the airplane, please do take one from home. You never know when it may come handy. If you end up sleepy at the airport, you may find it very useful.

- Your own music. Seriously, staring at the people around you and reading your favorite book is not enough. Your own music or movies may just save you from the ultimate boredom of a long travel.  Can you imagine being trapped in the airplane with the movie choice ranging from cheesy swindler brothers storyline,Terminator latest plot on destroying humanity,Transformers the movie, movie about the latest war in Iraq or Afganistan…When I think about it,I may just write to the airline company and complain about the level of destruction in those movies –it’s not pleasant to watch airplanes and helicopters fall and being shot at while you are trapped 30,000 feet from the ground. So,if you have your own iPod filled with your own content, you are ahead.

- Pillow or neck support. Seats in the airplane are usually not really comfortable so you will need some additional neck and head support. You can buy those at almost every airport in the world –I think I may have seen one at Nikola Tesla airport as well.

- Comfortable shoes and clothing. Our grandparents were all dressed up to travel by air,but we don’t really do this anymore. Get into something you feel good in and try to avoid some stiff shoes you didn’t really wear often. Your feet will be grateful to you forever.

Apart from these items, take your smile with you and forget all the fears. Do not be afraid to ask questions –there are answers to all of them and they may save your time. Airport and airline officials are there to assist you,so do not assume things, verify them with those people.

If you have more traveling advice, please –post your comments or contact us to publish the whole story. We’d be glad to hear from you!
